There aren't many farms left that grow real black currants. Beekman 1802 Farm happens to be one of them...by accident. The first year that they lived on the farm, they were exploring some of the overgrown, wild areas of the property and found a patch of black and red currants that some farm wife had planted years ago. They moved several of the bushes into their garden, and brought them back to health. Now they add the fruit from these century old bushes, along with their own blackberries in this jet black jam we call "Midnight Jam." One taste of this unique combo, and you'll be sneaking down to the fruit in the middle of the night for "just one more spoonfull."
