All the colors you see in the boards are the natural colors of the wood (the purple wood is from a purple tree in Africa!) there was no stain used on any of the boards. The boards were constructed using Food safe wood glue and food safe oil/bees wax mix was used to finish the board and bring out the natural color of the wood.
What do people do to maintain the boards?
Hand wash with warm water but do not submerge the board in water. I would recommend applying mineral oil/ bees wax blend (you can get it online or at home depot/lowes its called howards butcher block cream) every month to keep water from penetrating into the wood and to keep the colors vibrant.
